Our statement apparently did not contain enough "buzzwords" to comply with the standard. These minor CAR's pertained to (1) our Core Labor Statement which basically states our positions on child labor and ability for employees to unionize. We finally got ahold of the team at SCS who is responsible for our audit review after 2 weeks of radio silence, and we're told that the auditor failed to mention 3 additional corrective actions (CAR's).

Suddenly, we were alerted by a customer that the FSC website stated our FSC Certificate was "terminated". We contacted SCS daily for a week and received no response.

However, after over 2 weeks of waiting for our certificate to be renewed as its normally is within a couple days, we heard nothing. We were told by the auditor that all went well and were given a few minor suggestions for improvement on our control measures, which we addressed immediately per usual. Our 2021 certificate expired on January 11th - as we have done for two decades, we underwent a standard audit by SCS the first week of January to ensure we comply with all FSC's standards. However, after hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on membership fees and months spent ensuring we comply with all guidelines, we are being neglected by SCS Global Services in order to renew our certificate for 2022. We were one of the first wood products companies to obtain this certification. Bohlke Veneer has been an FSC member for over 20 years. I write this to inform our customers, clients and industry friends about the terrible experience we have had with Forest Stewardship Council™ and SCS Global Services this year in our annual audit review for re-certification.
